Iurii Pirogov
Owner & CEO of Perfect Stones Countertops | 12+ Years of Countertop Industry Experience
Iurii Pirogov is the owner and CEO of Perfect Stones Countertops, where he oversees countertop fabrication, installation, project quality, and customer experience throughout the Charleston area and South Carolina Lowcountry.

His path into the stone industry was not a traditional one. Before working with countertops, Iurii built a career in logistics and finance. He earned a Bachelor's degree in logistics, worked as a lead specialist at a bank, and later ran his own financial company. His career changed after moving to the United States and being introduced to a granite shop.
What started as a job became an entirely new professional direction. Iurii learned the countertop business from the production floor up. He began cutting and polishing stone, then moved into field measurements and customer-facing work. As his experience grew, he took on sales responsibilities and eventually moved into management. That progression gave him something he still considers essential today: an understanding of what actually has to happen for a countertop project to go well.

For Iurii, stonework is not simply a construction service. Natural stone in particular has qualities that cannot be reproduced exactly from one slab to another. Veining, color movement, texture, and pattern make every project different. He often describes stone as a noble material. Turning a raw slab into a finished surface that becomes part of someone's home is one of the reasons he stayed in the industry.

Building His Own Countertop Company

After spending years learning the business and managing countertop operations, Iurii decided to build a company around his own standards for workmanship and customer service. He wanted more control over how projects were measured and fabricated, but also over what happened before and after installation. That meant creating a process where customers could understand what they were purchasing, where problems could be addressed directly, and where quality did not depend on passing responsibility between unrelated companies.

Today, Iurii has more than twelve years of experience in the countertop industry and remains closely involved in the work at Perfect Stones. His role as an owner is hands-on. He reviews measurements when a project requires additional attention, keeps track of fabrication quality, monitors installations, and follows up on issues that need to be resolved. He also stays involved in material selection, production decisions, and customer feedback. He does not believe that experience makes countertop projects automatic.

Every home has different dimensions, cabinets, walls, materials, and installation conditions. Every slab has its own characteristics. In Iurii's view, there are no truly "easy" countertop projects. There are projects where the details have been identified early enough and managed correctly.

How Iurii Approaches Every Project

Iurii believes a successful countertop project starts with clear expectations before fabrication begins. He takes time to explain material differences, natural stone variation, seam placement, maintenance requirements, and other details that can affect the finished result. When homeowners need help choosing a material, he looks at the entire space, including cabinetry, flooring, wall colors, and lighting. He also encourages clients to view full slabs whenever possible, since a small sample may not show the veining, movement, or variation that will appear across a finished countertop.

Quality control remains hands-on throughout the project. Iurii and the Perfect Stones team review measurements, fabrication details, and installation requirements before the stone reaches the home. His goal is not only a well-finished surface, but a countertop that fits correctly and matches what was discussed with the client. That responsibility continues after installation. Perfect Stones provides a lifetime installation warranty for as long as the original homeowner owns the property, subject to the company's warranty terms. Iurii wants customers to feel comfortable reaching out with questions or concerns even after the project is complete.

Today, he remains closely involved in Perfect Stones while the company serves homeowners, contractors, and designers throughout the Charleston area and South Carolina Lowcountry. His approach is simple: help clients understand their options, plan carefully before fabrication, and stand behind the finished work.
